Our Team
East Tennessee Pathology, PLLC is a diverse group in experience and fields of pathology. Together, the six physicians in the group boasts 120+ years of combined experience in pathology. Our members have experience as a laboratory directors for hospitals ranging from community hospitals to the regional laboratory directorship of a metropolitan health system. All of our pathologists are board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. We have additional experience in hematopathology, dermatopathology, and surgical pathology with emphasis in gastrointestinal and breast pathology from Cedars Sinai and Mayo Clinic, with three board certified cytopathologists. Our physicians live and work in East Tennessee. The leadership of East Tennessee Pathology, PLLC consists of five local members who own the practice together with equal representation.
Frank J. Beuerlein, M.D. is American Board of Pathology Certified in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology, with a Qualification in Cytopathology, and has been a lab director at hospitals across East Tennessee in urban, suburban and rural communities. He has twice received the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award with Special Commendation.
William Beuerlein, D.O. is Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Board Certified and trained as a Surgical Pathology Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. His Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency was at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.
Lauren F. Chiles, M.D. is Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Board Certified, and Cytopathology Board Certified. She is the Laboratory Medical Director at multiple hospitals in East Tennessee. Her medical training includes a Gastrointestinal Pathology Elective from Cleveland Clinic, and a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Vandana Kumar, M.D., FCAP is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology, and is a hospital laboratory medical director. After her residency at Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago, she completed fellowships in Cytopathology and Surgical Pathology at the University of Kentucky. She has a special interest in Breast and Gynecologic Pathology.
Kent Michael McGinley, M.D. is medical director at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System and has served as a Deputy Medical Examiner in Knoxville, TN. He is an inspector for the College of American Pathologists, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Madison Hannay, D.O. had an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency, with a Dermatopathology Fellowship, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Dermatopathology. She is a Knoxville native.
